A True Story
History of Mopars in Chattanooga
If we look back into the eighties, there was a Mopar Show called Chrysler Crazies. Hundreds of Mopar people came to this show in Chattanooga, with the help of Dennis Jacques, Eugene Smith, Maxie Williams and many others. It quickly grew, but then everyone had to go in different directions and the show was taken over and still rolls on with the Tennessee Valley Mopar Club.
For years Rick and I wanted to bring Mopars back to Chattanooga. The Power Tour came to Chattanooga in 2011 and we bought a street and named it Mopar Alley during the after party. In 2012 we had a show at our local Dealership and 102 Cool Mopars showed. 2013 brought us back to having a Mopar stop in the Power tour, on a Thursday 186 cars showed. 2016 was very hard on my family, but we were happy to be involved with the Moparty Picnic. With the help from many Mopar Clubs 303 cars and thousands of people came to Chattanooga and it was a blessing for our family to be surrounded by our Mopar friends and Family.
Now here we are in 2017, a new year and a new beginning for the Moparty Picnic. We want to make this an Event for the whole family. Friday will start off with a Coker Tire Cruise. A short drive to down town Chattanooga down to Coker Tire. Lunch will be served and a tour of their facility. We will then Cruise back to the Brainerd Motorsport Park for a night of Mopar Drag racing. Doug Duell and 8 Super Stock Mopars will race brought to you by Liberty Plumbing. Krystal is holding a OldSchool Bracket Race. Saturday will start the Moparty Picnic and that’s going to be a whole day of FUN. Check the schedule of events for everything happening. Oh yes, we with your help raised over 20,000 to fight Cancer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
